Maggie George, Esq.

Maggie George joined George Law in 2018 after years of experience in both the public and private sectors. Upon graduating from James Madison College at Michigan State University, Maggie took what she thought would be a year off between college and law school, and she moved to Washington, DC. Maggie started working for Congressman Sander Levin as a congressional liaison, supporting the congressman with his communications, constituent relations, and policy issues.

Maggie is a criminal defense attorney who specializes in DUI/OWI cases as well as juvenile defense, school offenses, and felony charges.

Jack Burke, Esq.

Jack Burke was born and raised in the Detroit area. He attended Michigan State University and received an Eli Broad Professorial Assistantship as a freshman, where he was responsible for editing Law Review articles. With classes in Business Law and Public Policy, he graduated from the MSU’s Honors College and also graduated with Honors based on his academic performance.

Jack focuses his legal services around issues involving DUI/OWI charges, CCW/Firearms offenses, drug crimes, and felony cases.

Megan MacDonald, Esq.

Considered by many to be an up and coming lawyer in Oakland County, Megan MacDonald has been a practicing defense attorney since 2015, working in courts across the state of Michigan and defending clients against an array of criminal and civil law charges.

Born and raised in Oakland County, Megan has previously practiced law as an associate for two prominent firms, working directly with clients to represent them in a variety of legal matters, including divorce, child custody, contract disputes, real property disputes, and probate matters, along with defending clients in criminal felony and misdemeanor cases.

Mark Meisner, Esq.

A former Division 1 baseball player, Mark Meisner has a unique professional and educational background that compliments the diversified experiences of our George Law team. Mark began working in the sports industry upon his graduation from Niagara University, earning both a B.S. in sports management in 2015 and a Master of Business Administration in 2016.

Previously, Mark worked as the assistant director of baseball operations for a Detroit-based sports agency and is registered as a General Certified MLBPA Agent. He has negotiated first-year player contracts and endorsement deals for clients and has recruited both amateur and professional clients for baseball organizations at every level.

Corey K. Haines, Esq. - Of Counsel Corey K. Haines was born and raised in the thumb area. He attended Western Michigan University and then transferred to Saginaw Valley State University where he graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice/Public Administration. Corey started his legal career in 1991 by attending the Delta College Police Academy and went on to become a full-time police officer within the suburbs of metro Detroit. He continued his legal career in law enforcement and has been a certified law enforcement officer for over 30 years. Corey’s achievements and commitment to law enforcement earned him the role of Chief of Police, which is the role he has been serving in his most recent years as an officer.

Don entered community college and then fought his way to the University of Chicago and then Harvard Law School. Don was teaching economics at Harvard by the time he was 24. He taught at Oakland University and Western Michigan Cooley Law School for a combined total of nearly 20 years.
