Angela Ferrara was born and raised in Oakland County. She attended Lyman Briggs College at Michigan State University, and graduated as a member of the Honors College with a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Biology/Microbiology.
Angela continued her legal education at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law as a recipient of the Dean’s Scholarship. Due to her academic performance, she was selected to be a member of the Law Review, and also received a book award for having the highest grade in her Advanced Legal Research course. As a member of Law Review, Angela authored a note on recidivism and the need for first-time violent offender specialty courts in Michigan. Angela also worked at UDM’s Criminal Trial Clinic, representing indigent defendants in criminal misdemeanor cases in 36th and 32A District Courts. She also aided low-income veterans to resolve outstanding warrants and balances with local courts in order to restore their driving privileges.
Angela has been working alongside Derrick George since May 2018. Angela started as a law clerk, using her impeccable research skills to aid Derrick in finding compelling case law, to help get clients the best outcome possible. Angela has ample experience in legal writing through her schooling, Law Review, her clinic experience, and her work experience. She has written numerous pleadings, and memos which have been used on the record and she has intricate knowledge of the Michigan courts. Angela has built strong relationships in the legal community by assisting with a vast range of criminal, business, real estate, civil, family, and administrative law cases. After passing the bar, Angela transitioned to an attorney position with the firm in May 2021.
